Lake, and Provo, to the south. In eastern and southeastern Utah, there is service to Helper and Green River. Amtrak trains also stop in Milford in southwestern Utah.
Greyhound Lines - Bus Lines
Greyhound Bus Lines access several Utah cities and towns. In northern Utah, buses make regular stops in
Provo, Salt Lake City, Ogden, Brigham City and Logan. In eastern Utah, Greyhound runs to Vernal and Price.
Heading to southwestern Utah on I-15, the bus line makes stops in Beaver, Parowan, Cedar City and St. George.
Utah Transit Authority - Bus / Light Rail
The Utah Transit Authority has service to northern Utah's major cities from Provo north to Ogden, including
extensive coverage in the Salt Lake Valley. In winter, specially equipped buses make daily trips to the ski resorts near Salt Lake City.

Ogden is the closest sizable city to the Golden Spike location at Promontory Point, Utah, where the First
Transcontinental Railroad was joined in 1869. Ogden was known as a major passenger railroad junction
owing to its location along major east-west and north-south routes. Railroad passengers traveling west to
San Francisco from the eastern United States typically passed through Ogden (and not through the larger Salt Lake City to the south).

The location of the City of Vernal was first looked upon in 1776 by The Escalante Expedition. The Expedition
was composed of ten men looking for a more direct route to Monterey, California. There is no further record

West Jordan - City of West Jordan
West Jordan received its name from Mormon settlers who entered the Salt Lake Valley in 1847 under the
leadership of their prophet, Brigham Young. These first European-Americans thought of the area to be their Zion, or Holy Land,
City landmarks include the historic Sugar Factory, built in 1916, and Gardner Village, established in 1850. The
Jordan River flows along its eastern border and the Oquirrh Mountains lie along its western border, where Kennecott Copper Mine, the world's largest open pit mine, is nestled.
