Arkansas Vacations - affordable family fun
The great fishing lakes of Arkansas are among its most prized possessions. Constantly fed by cold-flowing springs and creeks, the mountain fishing lakes are among the cleanest in the world. Scuba divers and underwater photographers marvel at the water clarity, while fishermen are happy with the trophy-sized lunkers they hook in the same waters. The Ozarks offer Bull Shoals, Greers Ferry, Norfork, Beaver, Dardanelle and other smaller lakes. The Ouachita Mountains boast DeGray, Greeson, Hamilton, Catherine, Nimrod and Ouachita lakes. And, south Arkansas boasts Lake Millwood, White Oak, Chicot (the state's largest ox-bow cutoff from the Mississippi) and others lakes in Arkansas.
Houseboats, sailing rigs, party barges, fishing boats, rafts, parasails and jet skis are just some of the watercrafts enjoyed on Arkansas lakes. In addition, trout fishermen and nature lovers use the popular flat-bottomed johnboat to navigate the shallow tail waters below the big power dams.
Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway
Step back in time to an earlier age of locomotive transportation and enjoy the Excursion Train or the Dining Car . Enjoy the elegant flavor of the 1920's aboard the Eurekan Dining Car. You dine on specially prepared cuisine as the clickety-clack takes you back.
 Hot Springs
As America's First Resort and one of the South's most popular family vacation and convention destination spots, Hot Springs carries on some very important hospitality traditions.
 Little Rock Tours
See why the world has focused on Little Rock… in politics, race relations, business, and entertainment. Clinton Presidential Center, Central High School, The Old Mill, the U.S.S. Razorback, Historic Downtown, and more. Includes video shown on the bus!

History Arkansas

 Arkansas Heritage
From the Arkansas Delta to the Ozark Mountains and all the Arkansas geographic regions in between, our heritage - with its varied patterns and incredible richness - is captured in the stories we pass on to successive generations. The stories of who we were and how we lived ground us firmly in the past and guide us confidently into the future. Someone must be responsible for this legacy to ensure Arkansas's history isn't lost. Since 1975, the Department of Arkansas Heritage has been promoting and coordinating the discovery, preservation and presentation of Arkansas's natural and cultural resources. Pull up a chair and sit a spell: We love to tell the story!
