National Parks

 Bazaruto Archipelago [ Marine National Park ]
The Bazaruto Archipelago is among the most beautiful places in Africa. Situated about 10km (6.21 miles) off the southern coast of Mozambique, it is a tropical paradise of clear waters, sandy beaches, palm trees and coral reefs which makes it Mozambique's most popular tourist destination. The waters provide perfect opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving, and the big game fish provide excellent opportunities for fishermen. The entire area is protected as a world-class conservation area.

Archipelago consists of five islands
Bazaruto, Magaruque, Santa Carolina, Benguera (Benguerra) and Bangue.The islands are covered by large sand dunes and freshwater lakes, which are nesting grounds for black-winged flamingoes. The islands are home to small herds of red duiker antelope as well as freshwater crocodiles and samango monkeys. The reefs are home to turtles, dolphins and dugongs.

The largest island in the group is Bazaruto island, filled with fresh water lakes inhabited by crocodiles and many species of birds. The island itself is home to some 125 different species of birds.
To the south of Bazaruto lies Benguerra island. The smallest and most northerly of the islands, Saint Carolina, is comprised mainly of rock and coral

 Cabo Delgado - Northeast extremity of the country - Pemba is the capital of the province
The province offers beautiful beaches with emerald green waters, reefs and a deep Blue Ocean. The Quirimba Archipelago, which in the past was a major slave trafficking center, has now become a national conservation reserve.
Cabo Delgado is the home of the Makonde ethnic group, originally concentrated in the Mueda plateau. They are a people with very strong, unique culture and a natural talent for wood and ivory carving. The Makonde still practice their ancestral customs such as ritual tattooing and teeth filing.
 Gaza Province - with the capital city Xai-Xai
Beaches at Bilene [ 30 km away from the main road, situated by the shores of a great lagoon, 27 km in length, and opened to the sea ], at Chongoene and Zongoene [ each one with its particular charm, situated at the mouth of the Limpopo River ]. Xai-Xai Beach and marine turtles habitats.
For lovers of ecotourism this province offers access to the Great Trans-frontier Limpopo Park with its richness in fauna and biodiversity.

Nampula is a Province rich in landscapes, history and is very well positioned strategically, as can be seen in the cities of Nampula, Ilha de Moçambique, Angoche and Nacala. Nampula Province is the largest producer of cashew nuts.
 Niassa - Borders Tanzania - Capital City Lichinga
The province of Niassa is situated at the Lichinga high plateau and is encircled by extensive pine tree forests. The plateau is part of the African Great Rift Valley that encompasses the Great Lakes and the slope from Djibouti to the shores of Lake Niassa.
It is the most remote and unpopulated province in the country. Considered the last true wilderness in the world or in other words a remnant of the African Garden of Eden
 Sofala - situated in central Mozambique - with Beira as its capital
Sofala is an important part between the South, North and West. he Beira 'corridor route' is an old and very important naturally route by which the North and West can reach the interior and neighboring countries. The province is home to the Gorongosa National Park.
 Tete Province - situated on the banks of the Zambezi River
Tete is noted for its contrasts. On the one hand the natural beauty of the landscapes, the baobab tree, associated with ancient legends, vast green valleys and on the other hand, the gigantic man-made Cabora Bassa Dam. The province rich in mineral resources such as coal, gold, iron and fluorite amongst others.
 Zambezia - situated in the Central / Northern part of the country
Zambézia, with its many rivers and green valleys is the natural habitat of a wide variety of large mammals and birds. The main reserves are Gilé, in the district of the same name, the natural reserve of Derre, in the District of Morrumbala, home of the grey palapala and the hunting reserve of Madal Safaris in the District of Chinde, home of a wide variety of birds. The provincial capital is Quelimane, an important trading port.

Biological reserve with magnificent multicolored coral reefs, diversity of birds, plains, lagoons and in numerable sand dunes.
 Lake Niassa - one of the biggest attractions in the province Niassa

 Mozambique Island / Ilha de Mozambique - 175 Km from the capital of the Province Nampula
Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in recognition of its unique cultural and architectural heritage. Is considered the birthplace of the Mozambique nation.
